The Art of Customizable Hospitality

Memorable Experiences

“Good hospitality consists of giving the best of yourself to your guests” – Eleanor Roosevelt

Imagine checking into your hotel room already assigned to you, looking around and realizing how this space, your own space, was customized for only you. Every item, which was uniquely and aesthetically created for only you, has been carefully selected, aesthetically presented and perfectly positioned, waiting to serve you to its fullest. From the key card you checked in with, down to the waste bin you discarded the gum you already chewed, every detail was thoughtfully positioned to make your stay truly memorable and complete.

Hmm, what actually makes a hotel memorable?

Is it the size of the room? The view from the window? Or even the softness of the bed? Well Maybeâ€Ļ but sometimes, it could be simply the little things. The neatly folded towel waiting for you after a long day, the scent that greets you when you walk into the room, the aesthetic bottle of shower gel placed beside the sink, or even the bathrobe hanging quietly behind the door, showing how the products work together, to contribute to how a guest experiences a hotel, and this is where the art of hospitality begins.

“Customers may forget what you said but they will never forget how you made them feel.” – Carl. W Buehner

Hospitality is in the details

A guest may not remember the exact brand of soap they used during their stay, but they will always remember how thoughtful the room felt.

They may not consciously think about the towel, the tray set, the room accessories or the scent, yet all of these details are quietly communicating something, which is:

‘This place cares about your experience.’

For hotels, amenities are therefore more than products placed in a room. They are part of the environment a guest interacts with, and when those details are thoughtfully selected and customized, they become part of the hotel's identity.

What is customization really all about?

Customization is not simply just putting a hotel's logo on a bottle. It is about creating something that feels like it belongs to that particular hotel. The scent, colour, warmth and even the names associated with these items can all reflect the personality of the hotel, creating a sense of familiarity and belonging for the guest. Every hotel is not the same, and their demands may be different:

A boutique hotel may want something warm, intimate and distinctive.

A luxury property may want its amenities to communicate elegance and exclusivity.

A modern hotel may prefer something clean, simple and contemporary.

The product may be a soap, a towel, a bathrobe or a scent, but the way it is presented can tell a completely different story to each of these hotels. That is the beauty of customization because the same product can become part of completely different experiences.

From a product to an experience

Now, two hotel rooms can have the same basic necessities, but let’s say in one of these rooms, everything feels carefully considered, the colors of the bedsheet or even the trayset containing certain amenities, all complement the aesthetic of the room. The toiletries that also carry the hotel's identity, the scent coming from them which feels intentional, ensuring the smallest details feel fully connected.

You may not stop to analyse why you like the room.

You simply feel it.

That feeling is true hospitality, showing how choosing hotel amenities should not only be about finding the cheapest supplier.

It should also be about asking:

‘What do these products say about our hotel?’

‘What experience do we want our guests to have?’

‘Do these details reflect the standard we want our brand to represent?’

The role of a hospitality branding partner

This is where the right supplier becomes more than just a supplier.

A good hospitality branding partner should understand that hotels are not simply buying soap, towels, bedding or bathrobes.

They are creating an experience.

They are building a brand.

They are creating the small moments that guests interact with throughout their stay.

At Avoire Voltic, this has always been the thinking behind our approach to hospitality supplies.

Since 2015, we have worked with the understanding that the details behind bespoke toiletries and towels to bedding, bathrobes, scents and other room essentials, our goal is to help hospitality businesses create collections that feel intentional, functional and aligned with their brand.

Hospitality is not only about having what the guest needs.

It is about how you make them feel while they are there.

And sometimes, that feeling begins with something as simple as a little bottle beside the sink.

The art of hospitality is in the details.
The art of customizable hospitality is making those details yours.
